When I was but a boy, a crazy lady lived in the little house down the hill. She had lived there since before I was born, or so she told me; I had no reason to disbelieve her. Where that crazy lady came from I did not know and did not care. I was too young to concern myself with such matters that would be trivial to an eleven year old. In fact, it was much later before I knew who the woman really was. As I continue to read this series of books, I have become totally hooked on the characters. Many of them are totally despicable, most of them are at least very odd, several are very lovable, but all of them are addictive! I can't wait to find out what happens next! I've never read a book of the type Mr. Foxworth has written in this "legacy of sin and betrayal," and no one is more surprised than I am at how engrossed I've become with this family's saga. Open your mind and you may be surprised, too! Read the books in order (this one is #3) and enjoy!!
